Our support team
Often, when I am introduced to someone new the introduction begins with "This is Diane Reeder, she runs The Queens Galley". It always makes me laugh because anyone who knows this place knows it has a mind of it's own. I usually respond by saying "it runs me". Truth be told, The Queens Galley runs because of the people that you see listed here in this newsletter. The donors who help us do the very unglamorous but critical work of paying for insurance, taxes (even not for profits pay payroll taxes!), energy costs, rent, repairs and an ever growing grocery bill.
Earlier this year we highlighted our volunteers. We published the list of almost 200 people that stepped up to donate energy and time to put those 147,000 meals on the table this year.
Now we take time to thank the people who help from far and near. We also want to thank the people who helped but who are not listed, donors who contributed coin and cash to drop boxes and fund drives and donors who requested to remain anonymous. Our gratitude is heartfelt and if we omitted your name while typing up this list please know that your generosity was not missed (but we'd like to fix the error of omission so please let us know!)
All of it comes together every day to allow anyone who hungers to dine with dignity.
This list goes on our website shortly and it's not too late to add your name. It's not too late to become part of the 2011 team that helped to make sure that wholesome food was available to every man, woman and child in our community this year. Good food served with dignity with no questions asked, this year, last year and with your help tomorrow.
